In A Nutshell
I'm a widow of 3 yrs who legally adopted my "special needs" grandson 2 yrs ago. I've completed 3 yrs of college, was an Anthropology major back in the day....now "general studies" Over recent years I have volunteered instruct basic piano/general music at the elementary school in our community. Before that I was a teacher's Aide, and before that I planned/initiated an Activity program in a Long Term Care facility, and before that I worked as a substitute high school librarian, and before that I was a
documents archivist/photos curator in museums in Wash. state. Now I am a Mom to a 10 year old boy on the Autism Spectrum. We have pets and are currently finding homes for a litter of kittens. We do craft projects...like I made him a suit of armor out of cardboard and duct tape.....an owl costume out of brown paper bags...a cobra head onto an old piece of abandoned hose. Hobbies are genealogy research, reading
archaeology articles, like a wide variety of music, have played beginning violin, piano, and harp. Live in a rural community on POW with a 20-kid school and a half-sized gym. Like laughter, wild flowers, picnics.....
The One I Am Looking For
Looking for friendship first...with someone who enjoys kids, who is highly ethical, who is intelligent and likes to talk over ideas and opinions and dreams, who is interested in educational sources, who doesn't just quit living because of attaining a certain age.
I'd Just Like to Add
What makes me me is that even though I am cautious/conservative, every now and then I embrace an unconventional action...(i.e. adopting teenagers, feeding an abandoned week old kitten with an eye-dropper, getting a second upright piano because it was free and I envisioned playing duets with my daughter...) I get instantly happy when I see Steller's Jays, hummingbirds, or those red headed sap suckers, and when I hear the birds chattering in the morning and their rhythmic good-night chirps. I grin when I hear the 1950's song like "Turn Me Loose", or the Sons of the Pioneers when watching an old b/w Roy Rogers movie....or when the sun comes out.
