In A Nutshell
Thanks for stopping by!
Folks generally describe me as friendly, positive, enthusiastic, resilient, romantic, trustworthy, kind, creative, confident. I don't take myself too seriously. In a meeting, I am the one who cracks wise.
I am a gentleman. Yep -- I will buy flowers for no reason, open doors for you, rise when you come to the table, and pull your chair out.
Retired from my "real" career, I am enjoying a couple of mini careers, plus I am on some non-profit boards and do a bunch of community stuff.
Specifically, I enjoy walking/hiking, reading, leisurely al fresco dinners, old/new movies (in theater or at home), concerts, theater, Iron Pigs games, museums. Cooking, grilling, baking. I enjoy wine, craft beer (not a beer snob, though), and classic cocktails (I know my capacity: I nurse a Manhattan all night).
You have probably looked at my photos (does anyone read the profile first?) and you know I am an active grandpa and love it
The One I Am Looking For
I would hope you are confident, comfortable with yourself, and are proud of your accomplishments. If you are active in your community, that would be terrific.
Some similar interests would be nice, but I would enjoy learning about and participating in the things you like to do. And vice versa, I hope!
If you are a tad crazy (not certifiable, just goofy) occasionally, that would make us very compatible.
While I say above I am looking for a casual relationship or friendship, with the right chemistry and attraction, more would be welcome.
Oh, and while I would enjoy traveling with someone, I am not looking to travel to someone. I hope you are relatively local. Kinda looking for someone my age or younger...my height or shorter...
I'd Just Like to Add
When we all first started thinking about dating, we would sit behind someone in English class for a semester getting to know each other with no expectation other than getting through class. We could assess chemistry (not knowing that’s what we were doing) over time. If there was no chemistry, no attraction, we just keep chatting in class. If there was chemistry and physical attraction, we might walk to each other’s locker, then after awhile maybe catch a movie, and by the end of the year, on to the prom.
Holy cow, we don’t get a chance to talk before class when we are doing online dating. Boom – we meet for that first cup of coffee at Panera and we are immediately assessing the possibilities. And we both know it...so let's acknowledge and celebrate the awkwardness of the process..let's do this!
Photos only please. I'm not impressed with folks who peek through the fence. I don't respond to flirts, photo likes or faves. If you have nothing original to say, we won't be a match. BTW - I don't send flirts, etc either. If you got one from me, it was generated by this website, not me...sorry.
"Social smokers" and "daily smokers," that's a deal breaker.
Also, I am a lousy typpistt, so please don't ask me to "chat."
